How do people generelly transport live rock from the store to home? I know that submerged is better than wrapped in wet paper. I need 60 pounds. Should I bring rubbermaid containers or use the styrophome? Do I have to supply my own water? Should the water be heated? I have an hour drive, plus the time it takes to load and unload the vehicle.

depends.. !

the rock, are you going to be adding it to a Mature system, or is it going to be used to start up a new tank!

if its going into a mature system.. then submersied is best just becouse 60 pounds of live rock with die off can possibly cause a mini cycle!

if its going into a new system.. then just wrap it in wet paper and toss it in a box..

I mean either way you will lose somthing.. in the rocks.. and if you are going to be starting a new system the little extra die off will help with the tank cycle!

I see it usually wrapped in newspaper which I don't really like. Do yourself a favour and if you're not going to transport it submerged, bring a roll of paper towels and wet them in the store and put them on the rocks to keep them damp.
A roll of paper towells costs about a buck whereas 60 pounds of rock will cost you at least $200
