View Full Version : another demon, this time a worm

So for the 2nd time in 2 weeks I took all my live rock out of my tank. Most of my sponges ect are now dead. I've removed most of the hell that are crabs, polyclads (the real devlil) and now I found this :

It's basically dead in these pics and in a tiny test kit container thats why its rolled in a ball. To be honest I forgot about him for a few hrs then took the pics

It's not a bristleworm or at least doesn't look or act like one. Some type of fireworm? I was careful not to touch him. Click on the pics for high res.

this dude looks small comparing to my cleanup crew bristle worms :) those look like small snakes.

looks like an alien landed inside ur tank...long tentacles!!! a mutant worm?!? hmmm!!!

It is a harmless Cirratulid worm (aka hair worm) that is/was a very good member of any clean up crew as it is a detrivore. With very few exceptions, any worms that you find will be very beneficial.
