We've had this crab poking his head out once in a while for about a year now, and we have no idea what it is. I managed to snap a couple of shots the last time it came out. If anyone could help determine what it is, that would be fantastic.
Thanks
Chris

I don't know who it is, but you need to get him out of there. The sharp pointy ends on his claws are a good indication that he uses them as a predator. Good Luck.

yep...remove him and place in the sump, or find a large, hungry trigger ;)

:iagree:
this way you can take a nice clean pic for further analysis and identification.
Good Luck catching him.

I'd leave him. I think its a red version of an emerald crab. A red mithrax crab.

Don't think it is a veggie eater. Claws are wrong.
Here is your mithrax crab. Notice the spoon like claws?

I don't know about that . I still say it is a red mithrax. Do take it out and get a good picture so these guys can see. :D

Where there's one crab, there is usually another then another then another then another. Wait that's only me.
Better safe then sorry take him out either into the sump or down the drain.
Sometimes I place them in the sump they just end up killing each other there anyway.
