If I cycle my 180 gallon tank with uncured live rock will that get kill the critters in the rock?

Are the lights suppose to be on during cycling?

How often do should you do water changes during cycling or should you wait till the cycling is complete?

Depending on how uncured the rock is and how much die off you have will in part determine what lives through the cycle. From what i have read it can get really stinky. You probably should have a good skimmer on during the cycle.
I am not sure on the lights. I have heard arguments for both, and both sides seem to have merits.
As for water changes, I think you will probably have to do some. From what i remember you are supposed to do something like 50% weekly till the levels reach near 0% and then do a final 50%If you don't do any your levels may get to high and kill more stuff. If you do too many then the cycle may take more time.
I don't recommend cycling with live critters as some do. Use ammonia, or a piece of dead shrimp. You can do a search on the web for both of these methods as well as for more info on cycling using uncured live rock.
