My brother and I caught this in Ft. Lauderdale on a fishing charter. The first mate said that it was 250-300 pounds and around 5ft long. I think that it might be a Bull shark but not sure. What do you guys think????? (The beast was fat). Yes we let it go:bravo:

I can't be shure of coarse, however it looks alot like a Dusky Shark to me.

but in Fla its better chance of it being a bull shark or lemon shark, although it doesnt look like either of them to me. the Bull shark has a flat short nose.

Did the first mate think it was a bull shark?

After looking at some pics of the Dusky shark it seems that it could be a Dusky. The first mate was 90% sure it was a bull. Anyway what a fight, took over 1h to land and it was nice to see it swim back after landing. The beast took over a 10 pound king fish for bait. Thanks for your input.

My hat is off to you for relaesing the shark after catching it. I understand the desire to fish an animal like this, but am also aware of the impact killing such a creature has on a fragile eco-system. Watching the movie sharkwater really opened my eyes to the damage we are doing to the worlds shark populations.
