Hi,
I am planning on Dwarf Seahorses to be my new tank inhabiter! I am planning on using a 5 gallon hex aquarium (hopefully if I can find one with out the filter and everything), I know that they need slow water movement, so would a sponge be enough filtration? I really need help and configuring the filtration! Also I was planning on using sea lettuce, as a hitching post, but I need to know what else I would need. Links referring product would be great especially if the site is a USA site not Canadian but I can always look on a few of my preferred site for your recommendations. The brine shrimp hatchery is a small concern of mine do you just dump egg in a bottle with an air stone then fish them out and put them in the sea horse tank. I am also planning on using a black sand that of course buffers. Thank you very much!

From what I know the Caribsea black thaitan moon sand does not buffer, but that is not a main concern.

Sea lettece might not work as well as a hitching post due to the size of these sea horses, if you can get something that does not grow it might be easier and cleaner to maintain.

Be prepare to religiously hatching brime shrimp as those dwarf does not eat anything but live baby brime shrimp. If you are not up for that task, try other types of captive bred sea horses that eat frozen mysis, it will save you alot of headaches.
