I'm not able to make out what the coral is from this picture. A closer photo would be required.

You can't upload the same pic twice - but you can insert it into as many threads as you want once it's uploaded. See the site FAQ for photo inserting info; and your UserCP for your uploaded attachments.

If it is indeed Stylophora spp (http://www.aquariumpros.ca/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26797&d=1193367759); you NEED to have very good water quality (RO/DI ); stable salinity and high Calcium & Magnesium with stable ALK .

It also requires high intensity lighting (Metal Halide and/or T5HO ).

It requires high flow; as do most SPS corals. In a tank the size of yours - you should have 700-1000 GPH of flow (average of 20-30x tank volume).

This is definitely an advanced coral; and should only be attempted by experienced SPS keepers with a very stable and established tank.

Also requires to be fed; ie. rotifers; Cyclop-eeze or other coral foods.

Rule #1 - research on your own and don't simply take advice from the LFS that is trying to take your money. Some stores are good; some are horrid - either way - knowledge is power; as if you know the real facts; it doesn't matter what they say.

Some reference for you:

Just an advanced note - the ZooMed Power Sweep powerhead will likely fail soon; as they are infamous for not being reliable...especially the rotating part.

if the ph fails to sweep back and forth is it gonna be the end of the world? will my tank suffer?
