Hello all,

I am wondering if anyone in the club could point me in the right direction to get some RODI water in London. I used to get a bunch at once from the LFS I dealt with (now closed) and store it in jugs. I only use a gallon every two weeks for my Nano so it lasts a long time and I can not justify buying a complete RODI system for this volume. If anyone knows where to purchase water in bulk locally, please let know. Alternately, I am more than willing to buy from a club member or trade frags for water - just PM me.

I totally understand what you're going through. Thankfully I can get 0tds distilled water in 3 & 5 gallon jugs from a water store locally. They may be someone to call and see, but I bet there may be a few reefers eyeing up some 'free' frags lol. Have you tried the water shops yet?

Just to update this thread, I ended up getting water in London at Water Depot last week for a mere 17-cents a litre. They sell it in bulk and you can fill your own jugs. It's RO water...not RODI, with a TDS of 4 according to the clerk.

I would suggest that you test it yourself - as I'm sure we can all attest to the 100% validity & truth behind what clerks and sale people say.

Also 4ppm TDS is just to the point that it can be problematic...especially as you have no idea what those 4ppm are. Is it copper? Iron? Calcium?

TDS meters are small and inexpensive & a very important front-line of defense for your tank.

Martin I could give you some RO/DI on a per needed basis as long as you have your own jugs....just pm me and we can work something out...Dave

Thanks for the offer, Dave. I may take you up on it next time I am low.

Also AJ, thanks for the advice...I totally hear you. However, I do not have a TDS meter right now but I will definately consider getting one soon.

I have a handheld meter i could lend you so dont bother buying one. I have RO/DI water as well if Dave isnt available. If you want to borrow the meter just PM me and i will give you my address.
I wouldn't trust any sales person in the water selling industry. Most of them don't even know what RO/DI water is.

Martin, let Jo know at work when you are low on water and I will send some in with her. See you at the Christmas party.
