This came on a piece of live rock we got about a year ago. It was pretty bleached out in the beginning and small.
Ant ideas?

I think it is a Button / Zoa / Pally...... I'm not sure what the actual difference is. People seem to use these terms for the same things, but I am sure some one will correct / inform me after I post this reply.

It's a palythoa, or sand polyp.

Looks exactly the same as mine. They spread easily and when they get big they can take down a guppy. Mine get to about 1.5" or so, nice green in actinic light. Some people concider them a pest as they will take over a tank in time but are not troublesome like aiptasia.

We have had this polyp for at least a year and it hasn't spread at all - just got "healthier" looking.
