New 30G Shroom tank !

So im at the point where my Chiclids are just Borning! i mean all they do is swim eat crap and then starts all over again!

So i have decided to convert that tank a 30g tall tank into a softy tank, its going to have 2 clowns and mushrooms,zoos and start polyps.

the lighting that is currently on the tank is 2x 15 watts 1 10k and marine glow. ( is the eclipes hood) so it has the built in pump, Might use my old little giant 2 in a closed loop, depending on how things go..

So today i start! .lol

Its been a week.. What no comments? or suggestions :)

So like i said its been week the rock has cycled.. Still kind cloudy.. using southdown!
Got about 35 pounds of live rock in there, and somthing like a 3-4 inch sand bed!

this tank is 24 long 24 high and 12 wide.

I currently am running!

Saltwater : 150g, 30g Tall , 30G Normal
Freshwater: 90G ID shark tank.

So only 4 at the moment,. the most i have run at one time was 8 :)

Toooloud, that Southdown is real messy stuff for the first couple weeks.........sometimes you think it will never clear up :)

Was surprised the tank only took 3 days to cycle i waited a week just incase!

These corals have been added to the tank about 2 mins before the pictures where taken! .

Now these are all frags from my main tank, so i will be able to see if they grow better under halides, or under Nos :)

This would be for the newbies who are reading this thread, Just wanted to make clear that what im doing here setting up somthing soo fast is not somthing recommended!

Myself i have used 2 inches of mature sand from my other tank and covered it with fresh new sand! , Then i added 30 Pounds of live rock from my mature ( 18 months old ) tank right from one tank to this one, So there was no die off witch would mean there would be no cycle, As if you where to order it online or buy it from a LFS where the rock may not have as much Bacteria growth on it! and lastly i used 20Gs of my old tank water from a water change on the 150G so there is mature water in the water colum.

so once again, just wanted to let most of you that for a tank to cycle like this with in a week is very fast manly becouse i dont have the death on the rock to deal with and i do have the mature rock with the bacteria to compensate. most tanks can take up to a month or more for a complete cycle.
