I got a question about Ballast.....Are a commerical ballast any good for lighting?Here is the ballast i have actually a box of them.

Its a 2 lamp Ballast
Input 120 volt 074A 60Hz
for-2 F40T12/RS 40 Watt
High power Factor OCV 280 Volt
Sound Rating A
Rapid Start Magnetic
MODEL # 570322

I took all this info. off the Ballast..If this Ballast is ok to use,what type of bulbs can i use with them?

They are fine to use: Just match the bulbs to the ballast

2 lamp Ballast ( overdriving is being done with electronic ballasts, read more b4 trying)

Input 120 volt
current 0.74A
Frequency 60Hz (you live in North America, so that's not a problem)
for-2
F40 (Flourescent 40Watts
T12 (type of tube, a T12 is the size most people are used to seeing, 1.5" in diameter
RS (rapid start, not to be used on instant start ballasts, will lose about 75% of their rated life)
