looks like a pearl bubble coral. LPS. feed it well and it will grow and colour up nicely.

another pointer is that corals need clean water to survive.
lionfish + angel + other heavy feeders + no skimmer = crash

i do frequent water changes and everything seems to be doing fine. thanks for the other pointer though

Water changes are only destabilizing your tank; where as proper stocking levels and quality skimming would help to stabilize it. Trust me; water changes aren't the fix-it that some imply they are. Actually Mr. Wilson talks about this at length here too. Do a search and read about it. You'll only be helping your tank; which we assume is your intent.

Yes it is bubble coral. Keep your levels steady and keep it out of high flow and the bubbles will extend once it is happy. Oh ya, it needs a good amount of light for photosynthesis, specially if you are not feeding it.

it's actually a lower light LPS coral, so a good amount of light is not needed. even if you are not feeding it.
