I found mine at RONA, but you can find them by calling local lawn and sprinkler companies.. Just ask which sell beckett.. Most of them can get beckett products, just don't carry them now..

Also there are different companies that make the same type of fountain head. I've got one made by Little Giant(from Home Depot) that is internally identical to the Becket 1408. Canadian Tire also carries one that looks identical to the Becket, but I haven't tried it out yet.HTH.

Sweet !!!

I just hope I can get a couple now being the time of year and all.I will try what has been suggested, Thanks guys.

Then when I get them it's time to fire up the mag24 and watch the foam fly!!!!!

Now if I could just find a source for plastci needle valves I'd be set. It's the last part I have to find for my dual 42" chamber calcium reactor as well as the air controll valves on my skimmer.Any ideas where these can be had?I've tried all the pluming stores and wholesalers and industrial tube place (where i got my John guest fittings) but no one has them.I don't want to bring them in from the US to many little things don't make it worth while.

Thanks again.

I forgot to mention the foam heads are about half the price at Canadian Tire($15) as the ones at Home Depot(~$30)

I think most people use brass needle valves(Home Depot carries them) for co2 reactors, but I'v seen real cheapy plastic ones at my LFS made by Hagan. You could also look for air line tubing clamps, kinda like a really small c-clamp (again by Hagan) to act as a valve for your skimmer air intake.

Hey KW-Reefer

Would you like to share your HSA design ... or at least supply a link to where one might see it. I recently ordered a 1408 from Beckett and I am expecting it any day now. Wish I had found this BB earlier. It would have saved me a few $$$!

Thankx

John Guest ... Your guest is as good as mine :)

A Beckett Foam head is a fountain nozzle used in backyard (ornamental) ponds. They are designed as a means of introducing air into a pond. In aquaria they can be used to make a HSA skimmer. This is a venturi-like skimmer that uses water to draw in air to make bubbles. There are many DIY sites showing how this is done. Just do a google search and see for yourself.

If you look at our Dave's ReefPure RODI units - all the fittings used are JG (John Guest). They are a pressure fitting - very easy to use and very good quality.
