My canopy unfortunately cannot accomodate 48" VHO, so I'm downsizing to 46.5" bulbs. But I can't find a reflector to fit (other than on the HelloLights website (ww.hellolights.com/ref465in.html) for US$37.75 (about Cdn$52.00). And they don't ship to Canada!!
Any ideas, group? As you may have noticed, I'm in Ottawa.

I have the same situation - I'd also be interested in any advice. I've been told that with the VHO you don't really NEED a reflector - just paint the inside of the hood white. I, personally, would prefer one, though. I was thinking of making one out of a polished sheet of stainless steel or aluminum, but if there's an easier and cheaper way, I'd be interested. Thanks!

What about using a 48 inch reflector.. and cutting it down? Just need to use Tin snips!

I agree that if your using the URI's a reflector is not as important, as they have a built in reflector. Paintaing your canopy white will still help, or lining it with aluminum flashing from home depot or whatever.
The shape of the reflector is definately not as important because of the built in reflector.

Check with local electrical supply stores for polished aluminum reflectors for 48" fluorescent light fixtures. They are relatively cheap, under $20.00, are parabola shaped and can be cut shorter to accomodate shorter bulbs.

I snipped down the 48 inch polished reflectors for my 50 way back when, no problemo.
