Just got one of those Tom Aquarium Products Deco Kit 3 setups and i can't wait to get it going.
just gonna put some Zoa, mushroom, and other easy corals :)
all i need now is some water and Live Rock
i wanna get someone's old water just cause that way the water has everything in it i already need so it speeds up the cycling period :)
i have a Coralife 150MH pendant (the one that clamps on to the tank) and i was thinking of using it only have it really high off of the tank. you guys think it might be over kill for it?

as for critters i was thinking of maybe a Goby and a Pistol Shrimp or 2 Blood Shrimps or a Mantis Shrimp
if anyone else has any ideas on what to put in it or any helpful input please by all means :)

too bad you didn't post this earlier. i just did a 5g water change and threw out the older water down the drain. lol

a 150w MH is way too much. you are wasting a lot of electricity. even 75w MH is too much for 3g, especially if you are only keeping easy corals. one of those coralife mini duel 9w fixtures would be perfect.

personally, i'd get a bunch of sexy shrimp and some mushrooms :)

well it comes with an 18watt 50/50 but more would be better :)
the 150mh is just sitting around collecting dust now lol and maybe in the future some harder corals might be in the mix

sexy shrimp are nice

How do you go about keeping 3 gallons stable. Thats crazy! :P hehe Must be quite difficult.

i'd just use the 18w bulb... maybe add another one. 150w is way too much. you'll run into overheating problems, evaporation problems, and electrical bill problems. i wouldn't put MH on anything under 10g. ok maybe 5.5g... lol

i post up some pick probably by this weekend when i have Live Rocks and some snails and hermits in there :)

Did you not mod you 12G Nano with a 70W MH?

Heya,

Feel free to swing by and I'll spare a few gallons of water. Good reason to change some water anyways. You can check out what I've done with that old 75 of yours ;)

Cheers,

Also, I'd definately go with a small group of sexy shrimp. I've got a couple, and they're very cool, but because they're so small, they sort of get lost among everything else.
