Looking for a little information on refugiums. How to set up and why. From what I gather they are doing the same thing as plants in a freshwater setup?
Is it feasable in a tank that is not drilled? and how large a refugium would be appropriate for a 72 gallon tank. I am presently using a wet dry filter and all seem happy but always looking to make them happier and healthier. I started off with what is likely a LFS standard set up but as time goes on I am learning that the LFS dont always give out the best info and there suggestions of what is just fine is sometimes barely adequate. Any direction to a site or a good refrence book would be appreciated.(On refugiums)

Well any refugium is better than none..

I would recommend going with a 20 gallon to start.. get it drilled.. and have it mounted above the main tank .. then run a power head so that it feeds the refugium with water then i twill overflow into the main tank.. Stock it with a DSB some calupra this way any pods that grow in it will be feed to the tank with out killing the pods going through the pumps.
