Ummm pluff.....
Please tell me you only have one LFS within 50 miles of you!
Somebody charged you $70 for two Percula clownfish?? That's criminal.
Even tank-raised Percs sell for only $18-20 each here!
At least the good news is you shouldn't have any problems keeping them, as clownfish are pretty hardy.
Congrats on the new life in your tank!

First of all CONGRATS
for 70 dllars they better have been some BIG clown fish or came with gold flakes. If thats what they charged for 2 normal sized fish please find another LFS or find a friend in Ontario and get them to pick the fish for you and fed ex them or something.

 Well i know but i guess thats life, when u live in the maritimes.I even called the LFS in Fredericton and they wanted $70.00 for 1 clown and plus i had to drive 45 minutes. Here in Saint John the clowns were $45.00 each or $70.00 for the pair so i bought the pair.Looking at J&L's site i still think it was cheaper for me to buy them in Vancouver and pay the shipping, and it would of been cheaper.Oh by the way the clowns are only about 1.5 inches:sad: Do they grow and how long does it take?how big will they get? Thanks

I'm not sure, but i think the female will get to be 3-4 inches, and the male will get to be 2-3 inches.. the male will stay smaller than the female if i remember right.
How are they getting along?
hows the tank looking?

I got my clowns when I first started my tank (after 2 months cycling)
That was about 9 months ago I added them, and they were about 1.5" at that time.
Now the female is about 3" and the male is about 2" Once one changes to a female, it will have a growth spurt, and get larger than the remaining male.
Of course this won't happen until one or both become sexually mature. (Probably in the next 2-5 months with fish your size)
Check out my website for photos!

I was looking at that pair of clowns when I was planning my tank. One of the girls there told me they had been returned by a customer, she didn't know how old they were. They are great looking fish, though. Good luck with them. I have decided not to get into SW right now, I am going with Ranchus instead, but I still monitor this board to keep up with what's going on.
