.....we just had a large brood of 425 (exact count) erectus fry. That's a pretty large brood....in fact, that's alot of seahorses! Gestation was 14 days exactly.

...a couple of things that you can do:
1) make sure they have enough height 3X the full length snout to tail, and thet their favorite hitching post is on the bottom of the tank.
2) to stimulate them into breeding, do a temperature drop of a couple degrees over a 24 hour period and then bring the temp back up
3) at the same time as a temp. drop, drop the specific gravity by a point (1.023-1.022) and bring back up; do this over two days
4) give them at least 12 hours of daylight and a night light (night light is a lamp on the other side of the room)
5) put them in an empty tank, with nothing but a few hitching posts (you want them to notice how attractive each other are)
6)boost their nutrition, use PE Mysis, soaked in Selcon.

here's a pic of some of the fry...a little closer, not quite a macro, we'll give them a few more days to grow a little more, then try a few macros.

Just how the heck do you count "425 exactly", let alone 1200+???? It would be kinda like counting the number of jelly beans in a jar contest!

one at a time, I guess. LOL Anyway, it doesn't matter.
Saddle-up Pardner..Coralscaping is the "King of the Canadian Ponies."
Let's see. 1200 plus 475 is about 1700 ponies at around 50 bux each, wholesale...
I'd say he has a glass jar full of about 85 grand!
:woohoo:

....they are juveniles now, and we are working on training them on frozen food (some are accepting it now). They will be coming available this spring. It would be a good idea to add your name here:
