HOpe everyone had a wonderful xmas...After much adult beverage celebrations, I guess I was a pretty good boy this year. As Santa has left some good critters in the tank...
I discovered a nice bubble coral, large colt, and what I always wanted, a 2-3 inch maxima clam.
What did you guys get this holiday season...Also anyone went to the boxing day sales? I picked up some IO salt for 69.99...
Some snails and cleaner shrimps...
Happy holidays

Santa doesn't leave me any reef stuff so I had to go out and buy myself a flamehawk. They had some really small purple tangs at the Al's in North York if anyone is looking for them. The small tangs are suffering from lateral line disease however, but they had a medium size purple (2.5 inches or so) that seemed healthy except the ich. These sizes are awefully hard to come by.
69.99 is really a good deal for IO salt. I would get some but I still have a 3/4 full tub sitting in my basement.

I was at the big als in Scarbourgh on boxing day, and this guy brought 6 buckets!! of the IO salt...I am wondering to myself, how big of a tank does he have to use up that much salt...

Guess I'm lucky here on the best coast:
J&L's regular price on 200gal salt is:
I/O - $64.99
Kent - $59.99
I use the Kent myself, and bought an extra bucket when they went on sale for $49.99 in September. (Trying not to brag)
As for Santa, well it was off to J&L Aquatics for their boxing day sale, where all fish were 30% off and all corals 25% off, with most of the rest of the store discounted too.
Bought 2 MaxiJet 900 powerheads - 25% off ($23.95ea!)
Bought some Kent Superbuffer dKh - 20% off
Bought some Kent Phosphate Sponge - 10% off
Bought a Deep Six Hydrometer - 10% off (dogs thought the first one was a new chew toy  )
And some assorted other odds and ends like airline tubing a small net and a mesh bag. (All at 10% off too!)
For livestock, I was only looking for a Xmas Wrasse (which they didn't have) so I settled for a couple Lettuce Nudibranch's (slugs) at 10% off each, and 10 Margarita snails at $0.99 each.
Not a bad day of shopping, especially when I saved over $30! Now that's rare when shopping for the aquarium!

PS... Big Al's stores here also had I/O Salt on for $69.99, but most people who knew went to J&L's and got it for $64.99 + 10% off.
Did Al's also have 25% off livestock and supplies?
