hi i am trying to get my hands on some acropora. lfs around here are sad with no selection at all. i have tried ordering from j&l several times but i don't seem to have much luck with there stoney livestock plus you can't see it before you buy it. i tried saltwater connection twice with terrible results. i know of sea care but haven't heard any responses on service or quality of livestock and there is still $80 bucks in shipping for some frags. is there anybody in toronto selling frags or corals or can you recommend a good lfs in toronto that has a good selection of frags or full pieces. i would like a store that has a good selection since its going to burn up 8 hours in drive time plus gas
thanks

You being in Windsor...you might want to check out Detroit for SPS, tropicum I think is based in detroit....But not sure you want the hassle of driving back with corals.. Could be in violation of customs.
Toronto's LFS has little to no acropora or other SPS.

hi there... try these guys...
Oakville Reef Gallery..
278 Kerr St.
Oakville
905-338-2782
ask for tom or flavio..
call first and see what they have.. before you come..
and also they may know of someone that may have some..
or....
you can join MAST...
and come to the frag session..
and i think for $20 or so you can end up with a few frags of
what ever.. and may make the drive worth while..

Last time I was at Incredible Aquarium in London (last week) he had 3 heads of Acropora for sale. They have a website with the contact info so you can phone to see if they are still for sale.
Hope this helps. www.incredibleaquarium.com

Hey Canuckreef,
Do I need to be a MAST member to attend the fragging workshop? Thats coming up in feb right? I was going to join MAST, but I am going to be starting my part-time mba program, and will be taking some courses on wednesday nights. So can't commit to attending meetings every month. But can attend a night here or there, and would like to attend the fragging session and also the annual auction meeting.
Now that my tank is in shape to raise SPS, always looking for start with frags or colonies...

well..there are advantages to being a member..and my best guess is that YES you do need to be a member..or you can probably join and then pay the cost that all of us will pay to be part of the fragging nite..so you are looking at probably somewhere around 45 bucks or so to get some frags.. membership fee is $25 and then i guess about $20 to be part of the fragging.. so i still would think that you will get your $$ worth as dont forget you still can attend the meetings for the rest of the year when time allows..

Plus with membership you get the atoll news letter as well as a few magazines at times and discounts at some stores. you also meet people who you will probably end up trading with and exchaning ideas. I used to be a meber and then i moved to St catharines. I plan on joining again soon either this month or next, just had too much on my plate the last few months.
