HI All,

On the advice of Ryan & Flavio I picked up a gen-x co2 regulator and a new 5lbs co2 canister.

Im simply trying to connect the regulator to the canister but no matter what I try I cant seem to get them to work without leaking co2.

Jensen told me to use teflon tape between the regulator and canister, which ive tried but this doesnt seem to form a viable seal and it immediately starts leaking around the threads.

Am I missing something here? Is there any info docs for setting this part up anywhere someone can point me to?

I have searched but im not finding any answers that match my problem.

Thanks

Adam

there is a rubber ring you can get at any hardware store, just bring one end of the regulator with you and match up an appropriate gasket.....

I am no pro but this worked for me!!!

make sure the plastic ring that comes with regulator is facing the right way. Add a couple layers of teflon take onto the co2 tank threads.
did you make sure the control knob was loosen before you tighten the reg to the co2 tank. if u don't loosen this knob than it ruins the needle on the reg.

Well after speaking with Flavio (ORG) I now know what the issue is.

Apparently the unit is supposed to come with an o-ring which Ive either lost or was somehow misplaced.

From what he said I shouldnt need anything (including teflon tape) other than the ring in question to fix the problem. I guess Ill be taking a spill out to Oakville tomorrow to pick up the correct ring.

Flavio said he would hook it up for me, so alls good.

I didnt even realize I was missing a ring (and didnt look for it when I bought it since Ive never dealt with co2 & regulators before). DOH!

Thanks

Are you trying to use the standard white teflon tape? If you go to a hardware store that has gas fittings they sell a teflon tape specifically for gas connections. It is a thicker material and will provide a better seal on threaded connections under pressure.
