can anybody id this anemone? although it looks similar to aptasia, i dont think it is.
this anemone has been in my aquarium for 2 years. its never moved, never split, does not live in a tube and the kicker, its still smaller than a nickle.
any ideas?

not a cup coral. it doesn't have a skeleton. the foot looks just like an anemones foot.

go figure. i moved the rock and it retracted into a tube. lol i'm not totally convinced its a tube anemone though, it retracts into itself just like aptasia. i think this one has just taken up residence in a pre existing tube.
