Does anyone know what he's called, right now he's 1/2" tip to tip. He has a long snout thingy sticking out usually but not in the pic...

I would definitely quarantine that ASAP - as most all snails with a 'snout' are predatory. The exception to this being the Nassarious Snail (Nassarius vibex). My guess - some form of Whelk.

Most of the time - brightly colored inverts are NOT desirable...and pose definite risks to your tanks inhabitants (be it other snails, corals or even fish).

As I said - QT that ASAP - and then continue the search for the actual proper ID (which can be hard with the number of gastropods out there)...
