Currently my three clowns are always at the top of the tank in one of the corners near the returns, or hanging out in front of the overflow. This wouldn't really be a problem for me except that I keep finding one in my sump.

Last week came home to find that one of the Oscellaris made its way into the sump hanging out in the cheato.

A couple days ago found the Perc in the skimmer section of the sump. Scary thing is that it would have to go through the skimmer in order to get in there. Unless it made the 2" jump from the other side of the sump. Only the clown knows and he aint talking.

Is there anyway to get them to stop this before someone gets hurt.

There is a "Fish Training" class starting at the "Y" next Tuesday...

lol...sorry. As with any animals in our tanks - they do what they feel comfortable doing, not what we want them to do.

I would suggest covering the overflows with something to prevent any more unsupervised vacations...and other then that = :idk:

Try covering the overflow with egg crate.

I've added an anemone last week and the clowns still preferred the returns and powerheads. For the past couple nights I placed the moonlight where they would normally would sleep at the top of the tank, and it seemed to keep them away, and todya finally got them to notice the anemone. The strange thing is that soon after the Perc took to it's new home it was followed by an Ocellaris, and the other Percula and Ocellaris are back to the powerhead.

Here are a few pics

interesting :)

So right now only a perc & ocell is there in the anemone and the other is at powerhead? Usually the dominant pair will take resident in the anemone once they setup the hierarchy, but of course nothing is absolute :D

Keep us up to date.

I found that quite strange that an Oscellaris and a Perc would pair up. Is that common?

This morning found the Oscellaris in the anemone and the other three clowns in their usual spot between the overflow and powerhead. The larger of the Percs will pay a visit to the anemone from time to time.

Very neat to watch.

I hope all of the excitement doesn't stress the anemone too much, closed up for a while this morning and the clown appeared to be removing some dark brown slime from the anemone, hope its not releasing its zooxanthellae, maybe just waste.

As has been said before - mixing clowns in a small (under a 200G) tank isn't a good idea.
Once they have sexed - you'll have WWIII until you're left with a mated pair. Adding the anemone will only help speed-up this natural reaction.

Might want to pick a pair now...

Although it is not ultra rare for an ocellaris & percula to pair up, but they usually do it because they do not have a choice (or owners does not know how to distinguish, and ended up putting two "percula" together). Usually given the choice, they do prefer their own species rather than the other.

But at the end, it is up to them LOL Who are we to dictate them which mate they wanted (i.e. if they do have a choice like in this case).
