Finally got a chance to get to the post office this morning to pick up my ATI Blue+ bulbs. Used them to replace the Aquamedic & Coralvue mishmash T5 actinics that I was using.

Wow. What a difference. Everything is nice and bright blue, *and* fluorescing. Plus they don't seem to wash out as much when my 14k halides are on.

But I think next fall when it's time to replace my halides it'll be XM 20Ks. When just the T5s are on, I *really* like the colour.

When and if you go to 20k you might find the blue+ too much blue and not enough actinic. I would go 20k with the ATI true actinic bulb in this case.

Also I like a combo of blue+ and straight actinic for my sunrise/sunset. With a lot of blue+ bulbs I find the blue can be over powering.

The ATIs are supposedly the same as the Giesemanns, but with a bit more light because there's light closer to the edge of the bulbs. The Gs fade out more at the ends.

Down Ron! Down! :)

It's very hard to take pix of lighting, but since I got a couple of new fish today I'll have new pix just for you!
