Just wondering if anyone using an Aqualifter Pump could tell me if they make any noticable noise or not? I'm using a regular powerhead for the pump in my ATO setup and would like to get something that is quieter and has a slower flow (to reduce the force of the water entering the sump).
I'm 95% going to get two of these pumps (for the ATO of both of my tanks), but just wanted to get some first hand experience from those who already own them as to how loud they are...to me it would seem they would be fairly quiet considering their low flow. Thanks for the help!

Been using the same one for 3 years without replacing any parts, I didn't expect it to last this long at all. It is quiet unless it runs out of water then it's pretty noisy. That's actually good since you are warned you have no top off water. I top off about a gallon a day.

I used mine for starting and keeping my overflow primed. I've simply left it running for over a year. In this situation the tubing must be replaced as it hardens and clogs at least once a year. As a top off unit I'd imagine a long life. Mine's now on it's second year.

tough little pump...good for the money. FYI...I dont think running them dry hurts them either.

Sounds like a lot of people like them...I'm going to get one for sure right now and see how I like it, then most likely pick up another one for the other tank. The good thing about them is that they can be used for dosing as well, so they have other uses than just ATO's.
Thanks for the help
