Hi, I was just wondering if there were any other LFS in the Toronto area other than Big Al's that carry marine livestock. I know Petcetera has marine livestock, but their selection and quality is not impressive.

Thanks.

Well,
There is in no particular order:
Dragon Reef in Miss. (beside Big Al's)
Ocean's Alive on Queensway
VIPets on St. Clair
Menagerie on Parliament
Reef Aquarium on Markham Rd.
N A Fish Breeders on Danforth Rd.
Red Ocean in Richmond Hill
Reef Gallery in Oakville
Who did I miss?

I think it is called Aquarium Warehouse, name eludes me right now but it is on Torbram just south of Steels. Dee is propieter and he carries a pretty good selection of corals and marine fish. Very little by way of fresh and almost nil for dry goods. I have bought from him a few times and generally stick to him and/or Big Al's in Miss or Bram.

Coming from near Owen Sound I don't have the luxury of tripping around to various outlets and I found those 3 generally have a good and differing selection..

What's Red Ocean like in Richmond Hill? I'm going to be there on the 29th and was wondering if it was worth checking out.

Also which others are on the North or East of GTA?

Thanks.

Dee's place is called Aquarium Depot...on the left side of Torbram, just South of Steeles.

Thanks for all the info Dman. You wouldn't happen to have some of these LFS's phone #'s would ya?
I too am curious on how good Red Ocean is (cause I live in Richmond Hill).

Thanks again.

being from the same area as greg(owen sound) i can attest to the lack of quality marine items as well as terrible selection..it makes me wonder how many people are actually into the hobby in our area as the LFS does carry marine items...although i am unsure of what is available...

..the next point of all this is that i am assuming it is people like us who have to drive super far to purchase quality items that make the mail order livestock industry important...is AP open for business yet?

merry christmas!
