What could these be?

Hi All,

I am sorry...I've tried to read through all the posts looking for identities etc. and there are just too many to read while I'm at work :wink-grin

No internet at home at the moment.

I've been trying to grab some pics of these two and I just can't catch them in plain sight.

The first is a thread like worm (possibly still a baby) it appears round in shape, white with black horizontal lines along it's entire body. Right now, it's about twice the thickness of a piece of sewing thread.

It hides in a hole in the lr and pops out now and again. There are two of them living in some yellow,spongey looking stuff in a divet in a piece of liverock.

Caught it out about 3 inches reaching for a blue legged hermit :(

Any idea as to what it might be?


Second is a little creature that looks like a slug???? snail without a shell???? however it's shaped like a beetle with antenae and is whiteish in clour with sketchy black bands. It blows smoke!!!! smoke may be very fine bubbles that appear like smoke.

My son pointed out that my gonipora was smoking....we noticed the bug blowing smoke hiding under the gonipora.

Any ideas?

I'm still trying to get pics but these creatures aren't out for viewing most of the time.

The first sounds like a peanut worm.

The second sounds like a sea slug, one that just spawned.

Are you sure that it has no shell? It could be a stomatella snail

I thought this would be much harder.

I think the second creature may have a shell...certainly does look like a stomatella snail.

I'm off to read up on these two.
