A question for all you digital camera users. I have a new digital camera and am still trying to figure it out. My problem is getting the computer to find the memory card. When I take pictures just using the camera's flash memory, the computer sees them right away. It also shows up in the Removable Disk section on My Computer. When I take pictures using the memory card, the only place that I can see them is on the camera. The computer can't find the memory card. Any one know what I'm doing wrong?

A setting on the camera or software, but that's only a guess since I know nothing about your camera.
Just would like to recommend that you buy a card reader (they are cheap). Makes it really easy and fast to transfer images and you can take it with you to use on other computers without any drivers (usually).

Do you just put the card into the card reader and then plug it into the computer? How much is cheap? Like $20-$30 range or what?

Yup, just plug in, (win2000 or greater, win98 may need drivers).
I've seen them for 10$ but most places 15-30$.
Check out http://www.factorydirect.ca/cgi-bin/category_list.pl/RAMO?page=0 for a couple of them.

I only saw flash readers but I have SD cards for mine. I assume that you can get readers for those as well. Thanks for the site, I will search around a bit to see what's available. Thanks again!

Yea paul.. That is another option to this issue.. i did not think of that..

but what makes no sence is that the computer is reading the camera built in Memory.. just not the card.. So hold off and like i said.. if you can wait i will be up friday.. it could be anything.. but we could try the new cable.. and i will try my camera on your comptuer.. But if you have the cash.. the readers are soo much faster and less worry about damaging the camera with the plugging and unplugging all the time.
