Hi Everybody,

This little guy came on some live rock. It is very small and stays closed alot. When it is open it has clear tenticles with little round balls on the end. When it is closed it is about .5 inch. When it is open, it is about 1 inch.

I need to find out what it is because I want to take care of it properly. It used to open alot, now it stays shut most of the time. It has been in my tank for about 3 weeks. I was trying to feed it frozen cyclops, which is what the lfs guy said to feed the mushrooms. I have been feeding them with a turkey baster about every 3 days.

Thanks,

Lynne

might be a orange ball anemony [ pseudocorynactis ] if it is then it is not reef safe.

O my gosh. I hope not. It doesn't have any orange on it. I am trying to get a better photo, but it won't open up.

you don't have any corals listed in your signature so if you don't have them don't worry

I forgot to add to my signature that I have mushroom corals.

Will the that anemone hurt them?

can't be positive but if it isn't moving it shouldn't be a problem

He was very little when I got him, but after he shed he got really big.

I am still trying to id the sea anemone..... it doesn't look like the pseudocorynactis pictures I have seen online.
