So...there I am...about 30 minutes ago....ready to attack
the back of my BRAND NEW 90 GALLON DRILLED REEF READY TANK....and paint it the most gorgeous BLUE same as my buddy has on the back of his 90 gallon.....

I prepared the work area masking off etc.....

I am READY for my attack knowing that I will have to give 2 coats maybe 3 for a perrrrrfect finish etc......

15 minutes later the back of the tank looked factory painted!
YES , YES, YES the PERRRRRRFECT JOB.....

as I walk away to clean the brush OHHHHHH MYYYYYYY
GOOODDDDDD

HOLY F*&^%!!!! son of a b*&^% !!!!!

I PAINTED THE DAMN FRONT!!!!!!!!!!

As I quickly went through my dictionary of curses and my blood pressure shot through the roof.......

I quickly began to REMOVE THE PERFECCCCCCT PAINT job
very disgustingly!!

10 MINUTES LATER I WAS WHERE I BEGAN WITH A BRAND NEW 90 GALLON SPOTLESSS.SSSSSSS

WHAT A RELIEF I DID NOT WALK AWAY AND LEAVE IT DRY !!!!

ouch!!!!

I have been in aquariums for 24 years!
THIS WAS MY ULTIMATE SCREW UP!

I absolutely HATE DOING HANDYMAN WORK MYSELF!

OBVIOUSLY!!!!

Thats why i use a Paint on Latex..

I can just go and Peel it off once its dry! so i can change the color if needed, Or i can just remove it when iwant to sell hte the tank..

Nice one Tim
Make sure after the tank is set up on the stand and before you fill it with water the overflow is at the back.(you know against the wall) ha ha ha
Just kiding.
glad to see you saw it before it dried.

Tim,

I dont know what to say. Im speechless. I cant imagine the look on your face when you saw that you painted the front of the tank.
I'm sure that the next time you work on your tank you are going to be extra careful.

We all learn from our mistakes.

Well Earl....ya just can't imagine how SHOCKED I was that I had painted the front!!! I looked and I looked again!!

There it was...the OVERFLOW on the OTHER SIDE of the tank!

MAN O MAN....

It is all perfect now...but boy...can you imagine if I had not
noticed it and let the darn thing dry....??

Well Paul....I just shook my head! Could not believe that out of
2 sides to choose from I painted the wrong one! And...I had an
overflow to guide me yet!! hahahahahaohohoh

It is funny now....My wife was laughing her head off at me...as I
went through my novel of curses!

I am not proud of the swearing....

but I was slightly upset hehehe

30 minutes later it was a spotless front and painted back...DONE.

Did not take me very long to correct it.....this tank is a BIG priority.....I miss my reef so bad.

Just remember...the water goes in the side with NO glass (and hopefully that's not your bottom side);)

Hey Micky!!! MCQ that is....

the water is IN the right side!!!
TANK IS DOING AWESOME!
I am sooooo proud..it is gorgeous
and there are no corals yet ehhehe

cant wait....

I am not 100% happy with my paint job on the tank though..
I mean it looks great if you look STRAIGHT AT IT..PERFECT
but...if you get down and look up then you can see
where paint went in behind the black trim! P M OFF !!!!

BUT THE colour of blue looks very nice and
the lighting MH is super! glimmering away...I love it!

Cant wait to get some glowing corals in there....
