Who on this board is actually from the Niagara region, and would be interested in attending meetings?

Swapping frags, sand, ideas and stories is more than enough reason to hook up. Unfortuntely I'm in the Big Smoke or I'd be in like Flynn.

If you all have weekend meets once in a while, I would show up..
Not sure i would do a 4 hours of driving after work for a meeting.. but then again you just never know.!

Personally i like the idea of a saturday or sunday afternoon meet. Gives people a bit more time to talk etc if they want to, plus if it was done early enough in the afternoon we could make road trips to the LFS just across the border to drool a bit:D

15 minutes or so across in North Tonowanda there are 2 excelent stores. The Fish Place, and Saltwater Paradise. There are also a few more that i haven't had a chance to explore yet that are a bit further away.

Hardware is typically the same after exchange. It's the livestock that is cheap, well some of it anyway...BUT... CITES, so best to buy here.

I think most fish are OK to bring back. Its the corals. There isn't a huge savings, thats for sure, but its cool for a road trip, and occasionally there are ok deals.

Cites aren't to difficult to get though, you just have to get them, or at the very least make sure the cirtter/plant/live thingy, passes, and in 90% of cases they would.

WIth CITES you need to have the correct paperwork processed by the gov. This can take some time (I have heard around 6 weeks). The paper work will have and exact list of what you are going to import. If your list says you will have 3 x and 4 y and 5 z and you can only find 3x 4 y and 4 z then your paper work is nul and void, or so i understand it.
This is where the problem is. First getting a store to hold the stuff you want, next having the paper work processed and hoping everything you have held makes it till your paperwork is ready.
