Hi everyone

My 280 gallon system has been running for 5 weeks now. It contains ~200 lbs of live rock. I have transferred over all of my soft corals, polyps and shrooms and a couple of LPS corals from holding tanks. I didn't want to fire up my Precision Marine calcium reactor until water chemistry settled down with the new water, sand and live rock. I'm wondering how long I should wait before I get it up and running. I'm currently not adding any additives. Over the course of the next couple of weeks I'll be transferring over the LPS and SPS corals. Should I set up the reactor before or after I add the hard corals. My alkalinity is falling slowly from 10.5 dKH 3 weeks ago to 9.5 dKH today. Calcium is a bit low (300 ppm).

Hi Andy how's it going?

Since it usually takes some time to get a reactor dialed in to where you want, I'd say now would be the time to start it up. That way your water chem. will be more stable when you do add your other LPS/SPS's.

Andy,
I would definately get the reactor up and running before hand, like Kenzy said, that way you can get it all dailed in.:spin:
