i've wanted a 24x24x12" aquarium for a while now i can purchase a 30 tall for $45, and yet a custom 24x24x12 is gonna cost a couple hundred bucks. (even though it uses 2' squared less glass)
anybody know where i can find a standard tank with these dimentions?
if i cant find one, how hard/safe would it be to turn a 30 tall, into a 30 cube (only 12" tall)
would it be safe to remove the back pannel of the aquarium and flip it on its side, and silicone a pain of glass where the top piece used to be?
anybody on this forum build aquariums.
i'd prefer to purchase one prebuilt, but im pretty handy when i have to be.
anybody ever converted a 30 tall or similar tank?

REEFERMADNESS had one for sale in the classifieds a while back 24" x 24" x 12" but it got bought up by one of the members. I happen to know that he made it himself and seeing how he lives in London as well perhaps you could pm him about making another one. I can't say whether or not he would do that but it would be worth a try. He's a pretty good guy, I know this from experience as he's my brother.

Contact John at North American fish breeders.
He's one of the sponsors and he builds tanks.

Monday I picked up a 24X24X18(H) tank that I had custom made for $110. It's a beaut! I got it from BA. It worked out to 45 gal. and I made a coral bommie in it mostly for my GSM Clowns.

BA did a custom 2 ft cube for you for 110 bux....wow. thats a good deal. Who the heck is building custom tanks in there.
I did build one a little while back.....it sold it for 100bux...which is about what it cost me to build it.

They ordered it from their supplier. Aaron got it for me and Paul knew about it. It took a couple of weeks to come in and would have had it earlier but they were short on this thickness of glass.

I saw this tank when Gary picked it up the other day and I will say they did a really nice job on it.

I just phoned up NAFB to ask about different custom tank options and his prices seem pretty good.
I got a quote for 400 for a 3 sided starfire cube 24x24x24.
If you want regular glass and only half the height (lot less glass) I would think you're looking somewhere around the 150 mark, maybe less. Give him a call and find out for sure. Nice guy to deal with no doubt.
