Okay...I'm coming out of the Closet. I have to admit that I am addicted to especially the SPS coral for quite sometime and looking at all the nice Acropras being posted by our local LFS just the last couple days....I gotta have it soon but not before I get more advise and understanding what I should be expecting in the likes of equipment(s), care and maintenance and water chemistry etc.

Please enlighten me you serious Reef Keepers and guide me to the depth of SPS kingdom...

It's soooooo Booootiiffuulllll!!:wow: :thanxU: All for your Time and Sharing!!

The Colors and the Natural Structure & Beauty of the Acroporas are what every Camera addict Dreams are made of...whad'ya say Ron Peter!!

The minute details of every polyps that pops out of these Acros are so Awesome and the Colors...Oh man...it's so Intense and Out of this World!!

That would be Extreme Reefing.... in my Humble opinion. :bravo:

I agree it would be a pic takers paradise! I am hoping to set-up a small tank...50 gallon maybe this fall for Acros.

Im no expert by far but I know its takes extremely good everything. As in good lighting, good flow, good clean water, and stable parameters.

Of course there are different ways to acheive all these but if you can master these things....SPS will thrive.

There's a guy on RC who's signature says "SPS = Stability Promotes Success". Just keep repeating that and you'll be ok :)

I've done alright with some of the hardier SPSs. I've also had some losses. I'm moving to a bigger tank in the next week or two, so I'm sure I'll have better luck with it. The success I've had have been with SPS that get lots of light and lots of flow. The losses have been from instability (I lost a lot when the temp spiked and my AC broke, also I had a PH drop one day that took out a couple).

When I move tanks, I'm also going to be upgrading my lights from 175 MH to 250s. I'll let ya know how that affects things.

Paul, talk to me at WTR or RR, if I see you. I will give you some good pointers. Its really easy to take care of SPS, as long as you are on top of your game.

Atomikk,

Most likely @ NAFB first and hopefully whatever I can salvage from NAFB, WTR and RR the later part of the afternoon as I've got a Wedding reception and Banquet to attend on the same Saturday and a Jack and Jill on Sunday...Dang!!

Thanks again dude..
