Can anyone tell me if there is a larger tank that shares the same footprint as my Hagan 77gal. . I believe right off hand it's 48x16x18 approx. !Thanks, Kevin !

Get a tank custom made at North American Fish Breeders, I've never used them myself, but hear they are excellent and not any more expensive than buying the off the shelf units... That way you can get whatever size you want.
I'm just about to call them for pricing out a bigger nano Bow front nano that will exactly fit my desk, so I hope they are cheap!

Here's their info:
North American Fish Breeder
2260 Kingston Road,
Phone: (416)267-7252
[Kingston rd and Danforth Ave. On the North side just down from Heavy Duty Motorcycles and across from the beer store. Johnny's been building tanks for about 25 years and has just recently gotten back into saltwater. Livestock prices are hard to beat, limited selection but the basement (with about 50 tanks) is less than 1/5 finished. Builds good Tanks]

I agree with Chris. I have seen a few of their tanks, all nicely done and you can't beat the prices from what i have heard

What is the tallest tank you think you could make safely on a base of 48x16 . Just pondering!!!!

Regardless of what is actually possible, remember one thing.....

How long are your arms!

Tall tanks IMHO are a PITA.

Most guys that I have talked to, that have tanks deeper than 24/30", wish it was 24/30'

I like 24". You can have a fairly deep sandbed and still have room for corals. 30' might be nice. 4-6 inch bed then 24 inches of rock and water.

Any deeper then you are asking for headaches.

My next will be my third tank from Jonny at NAFB. Prices are unparralled. As for size, my last tank was a custom 200 that was 36 inches deep. I will never do that again. Even with a 6 inch sand bed I still couldn't reach the bottom, not even close. 24 to 30 inches deep would be the max for depth.

48*18*24 = 90 gallons (89.76623377)
48*18*30 = 110 gallons (112.207792)

Also keep in mind that these are outside dimensions.
