:mixed: Well this guy here in my city has a fully stocked reef tank and he has to sell it.Hes away in school and his parents got transfered,so he has to get rid of his setup. Now heres the problem,I don't know anything about a reef setup at all,and i'm cycling a FOWLR as we speak.I talked to this guy before and he wanted $1500.00 for everything plus extras. Now hes offered it to me for $600.00:dance: and he will set it up for me.My question is if i bought it,is it gonna be hard to look after,as I DON"T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT A REEF SETUP:confused: I could always get a list of his items and let you know if anyone from New Brunswick is intrested:cheers: Here is 2 pictures he sent me.it is approx 70 fully loaded with 85 pounds of live rock. many corals, fish, in an oak cabinet with every kind of accessory that you would ever need.

sounds like a deal but give us some details of the equiptment.
When I bought my used tank and stuff I thought I was getting a great deal also, but I basically replaced everything as the equiptment wasn't really up to par. So the good deal wasn't all that great after all :(

if you buy it you may want to consider keeping the coral banded out.

Hi,

What type of fish keeping experience have you had ? Freshwater ? Marine fish ?

Also, how much time do you see yourself spending doing maintainance for the reef ? How much money can you afford to keep this reef running on an annual basis ? Where are you going to place the reef when it is at your residence (basement, apartment, second floor of house, bedroom) ?

Looking at the pictures...they look okay...but not great. When you took the picture, how long have the lights been on ?

This is a 70 gallon tank ? Something like 4 feet by 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet ?

Could you get a list of corals that are included. That will give us a good indication of how easy or hard it will be for you to keep that setup running ... and grow :)

Also, ask the seller how long he or she has been keeping reefs, where did they get the stuff from and how long the tank has been running for.

I know this is a lot of questions, but we need this information to properly assess the situation and give you good and clear advice. Hope you aren't offended by the questions.
