hey i,m a nOObe. Im looking to buy a tank and was wondering if the tanks you have are good starters. if youd have time i could use a lot of tips and advice. I'm looking to setup a community tank, i'd like some small sharks, but that's about the extent of my knolage. "i'vv got about 400$ for equipment & suplies anuther 100$ for fish. keep your eyes on the buy and sell and classifieds.
You can find great deals in them. You can often find 90 gallon tanks for 100 or so, sometimes with stand and filters for under 300. Its not common, but i have seen it a few times.

As for advise. Same for salt and fresh. Take your time. Read, read, ask questions, read some more. Try to get some genereal idea of what fish you want and if you are going to have plants and make sure the fish and plants etc are compatable.

I assume you are doing fresh. If so i would recomend doing some reasearch into properly setting up the substrate layers if you plan on soing a planted tank.
