It's clear that this site emulates RC to some extent, the forum organization is pretty similar .. something that isn't similar is the number of users.
It just doesn't make sense to have so many forums and no one posting in them. People invariably end up posting everything in general reef. There just isn't enough traffic or discussion to justify so many forums.
This isn't my site, so it's just a suggestion.

I think one of the big problems is that most don't take the time to scroll down a bit to see the rest. I have been guilty of this in the past.

I disagree.
If someone has an anemone question they invariably go and post it in the general forum because they take one look at the anemone and clownfish forum and realize that nobody goes there.
A quick glance over the forums reveals how old the posts are ... 2 weeks ago, 1 month ago, 3 weeks ago ... etc
People want to post their questions in forums that actually see traffic and it makes sense. The general forum is hardly busy, it's not like stuff has to get pruned out of there to keep threads from getting 'lost' (next paged).

AP's design is built to handle future growth. The reason for the individual forums is for the ability to have information 'filed' for future reference. Regarding the who don't post due to 'traffic' aren't helping - as ALL tank-related forums are all pulled to the AP index page - as well as show up when using the 'new posts' or 'todays posts' links.
Sometimes you need to take a look at the 'bigger picture' to see...

I understand the whole 'big picture' concept, I just see it as building 4 lane highways in the middle of nowhere.
Maybe I'm the only one that finds it all kind of confusing, but then .. I stick to two or three forums and ignore the rest .. and that's because there is rarely anything new to read in a lot of the forums. I know this is your site and you can run it the way you want and I'm free to leave and all of that .. but this site, and any other discussion forum based website is nothing without it's users. I just think this site has more potential than it's meeting.
How long has AP been around AJ?

I dont think AJ suggested that you leave or anything, AJ is a really nice guy and really cares about AP. I think it is a great idea that there is such a diverse forum to choose from. I feel reassured that if i want to know something concerning Sea horses, or Clams i can go to that particular forum right away and will not have to search and search all the entries for an answer. The people who are in charge of each forum are usually experienced in that particular forum. As it is often pointed out, when looking for a pro in a hurry, go to a pro.
