I'm not sure if I should put this in the bragging forum, but hey even I screw up once in awhile (as my wifes eyes widen with disbelief that I would admit to such a thing)
Saturday morning I dismantled my 200 and sold it to a local freshie. Removed about 130 lbs of LR and deposited it into a rubbermaid container in order to methodically eradicate and Aptasia issue.
I used the old tank water (good move) added a powerhead, Hagen 802 (another good move) added one 300watt heater (so far so good, right?)
Well, I didn't immerse the heater far enough, leaving the thermostatic control above the water line. Wonder aloud to myself on Monday, "what the heck is that smell?"
Water temperature in the rubbermaid container ahd reached 98F
I suppose I should be happy it wasn't Celcius

Wasn't the ICH I was worried about, it was the Aptasia.
I pride myself on giving solid advice to fellow reefers and I completely blew this one. I could have put the LR in all of the sumps and tanks I have that were already infested with AP.

It wasn't the last thing that i told you as i left:D That the heater was sitting kinda high and you better add some water and rearange the rocks and heater :D or maybe i just thought that to myself :devil:

The corals we moved into the holding tank are doing great. It's not really your fault Scott, I just couldn't find a way to blame Mitch, but he wasn't there.
