I'm about to switch from aqua-medic 20k 250w de mh to phoenix 14k's. Should I be doing anything special like reducing the lighting time or changing one at a time ect. ? The aqua-medic bulbs are a year and a half old.

Thanks Keith

I wonder if the Aqua-Medic is a re-brand of another lamp. I have never heard of an Aqua-Medic lamp. What is printed on the bulb?

The bulbs are actually AB aqualine 20000+ .

Go here to compare the spectral and light output of those two lamps: Sanjay's Lighting Comparisson (http://www.reeflightinginfo.arvixe.com/index.htm)

The Pheonix has nearly double the light output of the AB-20K. You should use the window screen method to reduce the shock of all that new light intensity.

Thank's Todd. I will have to try something. Do you think just one will do or do you suggest more than one?

Keith.

Buy enough to do three layers over your tank. Then every week remove one layer.
