Cotton????????

I'm wondering if I can use COTTON as a filter inside my Hagen 802 Quickfliter powerhead,instead of using the filters that are made for them?As they add up quick in price:eek1:

You probably could as long as you knew for sure that any of the chemicals used in procesing the cottong were gone. You can get huge bags of filter floss fairly cheap at places like wal-mart. Myself, I wouldn't risk it unless i knew of a few people who had been using coton sucessfuly and long term.

just buy a bag of filter floss its like 2 or 3 bucks and you know thatll work,Chris
