I haven't had a "best purchase" yet, just a lot of good purchases that I'm happy with. Of course I still have a nice wish list of purchases that might one day fall under the category of "best purchase"?

I have made one "worst purchase" though: Zoomed Powersweeps. Another great idea, but poor product.

Check out my little website to see the rest of my purchases.

Best purchase, without a doubt:
half horsepower Iwaki pump

Worst purchase:
LR for $8 per Lb. O.K. not worst probably the dumbest, cost wise, all right how about Marc Weiss products oh boy oh boy, or how about bio-balls, they would not have been so bad if I could have turned them into toys for my kid.

Thanks mjtj,
Now the more I think about it, the more terrible purchases I can think of, what are you doing to me :help:

Why was live rock at 8 dollars a pound a bad purchase?

Brent,
LR at 8 bucks a pound plus taxes for Fiji, when two months later I was getting it for 5-6 bucks cash, so maybe worst purchase was not the proper response, perhaps the Mantis shrimp that came in one of the pieces who killed about 6 fish before I realized he was there, may not fall under worst either but, I was just starting out and if I knew then yada yada.

The reason I ask is because I live in the Sault and there is only one place to get live rock. The premium Figi rock goes for $9.00 a pound plus tax (15%). Alot of this cost is the shipping for the guy who brings it in.
Even when rock is advertised for 5 to seven dollars a pound around the web(canadian funds) it still costs me that much or more because of the shipping.

Here's one... Skilter 250. Back in the days before BB's and DIY modifations. they're still junk for the amount they cost.

My worst was probably purchasing a goniopora (aka flower pot, aka daisy coral, aka other names)... I've had it over a year now, but it looks like it is going downhill now.
