Hopefully some one has dealt with this before and they can help me figure it out before I lose my little cutie.

I have a regal (hippo) blue tang.

a couple of days after I got him he started to rub against the rocks. I put him in a quarentine tank for a couple of hours every day with a lowered gravity and coppersafe. He got worse.

I put him back in the big tank and he just lays around on anything. his balance is off he finds a place to laydown and just sit around until it feeding time then hes a little pig. he's swimming like he's drowning.

I don't want to lose him. HELP

If you can keep him eating that's half the battle, as he'll need to keep his strength up to battle what sounds like a parasitic infection (ICH).
A cleaner shrimp or Blood shrimp would be an excellent addition at this point as moving him in and out of a Q-tank every day is only making matters worse. Don't buy a cleaner wrasse, 'cause after the Ich has been eradicated it will probably starve.

My first suggestion would be to NOT put him in a QT tank for a couple of hours each day. You should quarantine him for a minimum of a couple of weeks straight.

By putting him back and forth from display to QT to display to QT everyday, that's just stressing him out WAY more.

Either quarantine him for a few weeks and try the hypo to see if it'll help, OR ensure that the display tank is stress free (excellent water parameters, no bullies, etc.) and leave him in there.

One or the other.

If he's eating well, then like Dman said, that's half the battle. Hopefully he'll pull through.

Good luck!
