Dave - there is a good chance that we get WILD A. Echinata and other nice acros with this shipment as they were the same supplier that shipped us last year.

TF - Prices would be given in the store as we don't know or have no idea what the DOA percentage will be.

Hollywood - Thursday @ 10am - 8pm

Cpaul - Thx bud... no problem.

... just try to be here early.

I have no problem of posting pics on this forum as you well know. I'm not sure if im missing your point here. If i misunderstood the comment then I apologize.

TF and Vaporize claims that this thread is worthless without prices and I am simply suggesting that the reason why we have a storefront is for people to come and check us out and ask for prices.

December 29th, 2005, 07:06 AM
Well just curious but why is it so hard for you to display some prices. For most stores such as NAFB who posts prices we know theres no "special pricing". It just seems odd in a way that they are able to post their prices before their corals arrive. However, I think I speak for most customers when I say nothing kills me more sometimes then to drive all the way to some store to only find out i'm being charged more for same coral I can get elsewhere. By stating your prices outright it only helps customers make a more informed decision about their purchases. Also does anyone know when John is getting his next shipment in ?
Just my two cents.

Great job of inserting a veiled threat in there. :bawl: I fail to see why it is so difficult for some to respect store policies. If some of you are just in here to post negative things to discredit the store, then leave your drama out of the thread.

I don't have to be polite to any of you because you are not my customers. Stop harrassing these guys, they're just trying to make a living! And they are honest. I still remember being charged $200 for corals by some stores before Reef Raft entered the arena. Now take a look at how spoiled we have become.

Just a nic given to me when I was in a military prison.

I was just wondering if it's the same thing I was thinking of. It's a slang term I haven't heard since the early 70's, during and by the end of the Vietnam war.

Very few local stores post livestock prices here, even fewer have prices posted at the store (for various reasons, as most here are aware). This is just the nature of the business, it suprised me (and my wife) when I started shopping around back in the day. Consider the lack of pricing an opportunity to negotiate :)

Mentioning when "John" will be getting his next shipment in this post was in poor taste...I personally could not find one coral for $40 that I wanted in my tank. I am certain that those who are familiar with local retailers livestock know RR often receive specimens that are a little nicer, if not unique, and do not fit into the $40 coral category.

Anyway............lets see those pics :)

not trying to knock on any of the stores here but if you really want to know about pricing you can call RR. i have and they have always been great in letting me know over the phone or even pm will work (given i have only called for fish as corals i would like to see myself) its worth the drive out there sure my first 3 times going there the door werent open but i have been there bought corals from them and plan to in the future as well. there are some corals that arent commonly seen at other stores thats for sure. so please respect each stores policy as to whether they want to post a price or not.

i too would like to see pictures please :)

Great shipment! Couple of bright yellow Scolymia, incredible orange ones too. Some nice Cynarina with various colours I have not seen before, great looking ricordeas and some unique LPS I've only seen in books. On a sad note... we are tearing the main tank down and will be selling ALL the corals that are in it.

We will be going to Indonesia in the spring and will be cherry picking all our corals to be shipped to us. In other words, there will be no one to take care of it.

There are tonnes of RARE corals in this tank and I will announce when details are finalized.

Thank you so much.

I was there late Friday, a fellow was buying a huge angel fish, they mentioned to me once they took inventory they would start the sale of the prized main tank. I am pretty positive HE (above) bought the whole thing. :bsmile:

Man I have only been to the store once . It's a shame to have to sell all the sweet stuff in the coral tank just to get more you will not be gone that long and I am sure that someone will and can take care of it for you . What are you guy leaving for good or just a few weeks . If I didn't know any better it looks like you are closing the shop up . Hope not I liked what I saw and plan on a few more trips out to you . :bsmile: F1Fan AKA, PAT

Just to clarify a few things....

We are not closing shop. Jay will be away for 2 months visiting all our suppliers and training them.

We will be showing them what species to collect for propagation, how to ship minimizing DOA, and we will be going to all collection areas and collect our own corals.

The corals was sold for $15k

:but: Have you successfully shipped to rural locations where it is two days for Fedex or UPS? The only major airline we have flying into our airport is Central Mountain Air (subsidiary of Air Canada), but even that will take two days to get here. One day to get to Vancouver, and one day to get here. Otherwise, Fedex and UPS both ship here in two days.

That Red Frogspawn was GORGEOUS!!!!
Half of the colony wasn't looking too hot when I saw it last week, but the half that was doing great was absoloutely stunning....... I'll remember that coral for a long time to come...
I didn't get enough $$ for xmas to bring it home though..

Did you PhosBan reactors come in yet????
