Well as my header says there is a crack in my sump
Yesterday I installed some baffles in it for bubble control and now there is a crack at the bottom corner of the sump right at the spot the baffle is. I know why, the baffle that is at that spot was a tight fit and I didn't take the time to trim it so it fit more free. The baffles were just siliconed into place so this morning when I noticed the crack (after I refilled it) I took it out. Can I reseal it with acrilic bonder or is it toast? And if so is there anyone in the Barrie/Collingwood area that may have some I could get today (Sunday).
Thanks Jim

I lived your experience about a month ago.....but my sump was glass :(
You should be able to repair your sump, I have some Weld-On 16 you can use but you will have to drive to Orangeville to get it. You could use "Household Goop" to repair it, this stuff works really well, I have made many DIY projects with it. You will find the goop at Canadian Tire.

I would guess it would depend on how big the crack is. You could probably try the weld on or similar. If that doesn't work there is always good old silicon. If it comes down to it you could get a small piecs of plastic, acrylic, glass and attach it over the crack like a patch. I have used the tops of butter containers to patch drilled holes before and they seem to last OK.

Thanks for the reply guys.
I found a place in Barrie that fixed me up today. Great guy (Dale Chester at Acrylic Custom Design.)
I also talked to him about a bubble tower kind of thing that may help with my original problem. Just to run it by you guys, I was thinking of a 14"X14 box 28" tall with cross devides in it causing the watter to flow in 4 directions(up then down) before going into the sump. By putting a gate valve on the outlet to the sump I could restrict the flow so that it would be submurged and then there should be only water and no air going into the sump. I would also put a second drain to the sump mounted higher in the box just in case the main drain plugs.
I can picture this working but what ya think?????
