View Full Version : New Cuttlefish

Just received this cuttlefish the other day from Reef Raft. It is a Sepia bandensis and is ~ 2 1/2 inches from end to end.

It is still fairly shy and I have not been able to get any pics of it moving around yet, but will post some when I do. Incredible hunter and it changes its colour and skin texture to match its surroundings as you can see in the pics. I spent 20 minutes trying to find it and it was literally right in front of me.

Thanks Kase - come by and check it out...it is unbelievable to watch move and change colour, sometimes from light to dark, other "waves" of colours run along its body front to back

Ya, keep us in the loop. Those things are fascinating. If only they didnt kill everything... :)

Are you keeping it in a seperate tank? Also how big will this type get?

Yes it is in its own tank - this type gets to be 3-4" full size
