I think if you are gettin these fishes beside being a hard core collector you should be prepared to setup an environment suitable for them.

I second this one. If you get one of these fish then you better look very carefully at their needs and plan on having an environment that is just suited to them.

but they are beautiful, price tag most likely matches there beauty too.

Cheers!!

The price can top $5k as it is deep water fish and found only at depth of 55-100M.

If it normally lives at that deep sea, how can you put it in your aquarium? The water pressure in our tanks cannot be stimulated at that pressure, it's not like it's a geoduck that you can tie a rubber band around it LOL

actually it has been successfully kept in captivity. The fish will not feel the difference if you have a dim light and colder water temperature.

Blasto....Yuma......Bullseye...:bananas:

WRT the angel....the temperature requirement according to Scott's Michael book is 22-26C. I think like most deep water fish the people collecting them will have to decompress them carefully. Note: Soctt Michael rated the aquarium suitability for these angels a 2. This gives you an idea they are not easy to keep at all.

The collectors bring them to the surface slowly to adjust to lower pressure...like divers

I saw a peppermint angel on a Japanese web site, listed for 1,200,000 yen. At today's exchange rate that is ONLY Cdn$11,967.78 cents.

I'm sure Jensen would round that to $11,965 if you smile :D
