very hard to tell what it is. Can you post a better pic? Hopefully it's not aptasia, but if it is, Joe's Juice will get rid of them. Try posting a better pic.

They are a type of snail. I believe they are vermetid snails, which are harmless, thats a mucous they excrete to catch particles. It could also be a spaghetti worm as a #2 guess.

it looks more like a worm of some sort. I'm just affraid that my tank will end up covered with them... they don't seem to harm anything so i'm not too worried about that but they kinda look ugly...
thanks for the input!

That's exactly what I was thinking, just couldn't remember the name.
Dave, vermetid snails are a type of sessile snail that lives in a tube. They do look like a worm! :)
They throw out string-like projections to catch food with.
Try doing a search on vermetid snails... I'll bet that's what you've got there.
Let us know what you find out! :)

They can even live on crab shells and all sorts of places. apparently, they reproduce like crazy and can cause lots of problems cause they plug up plumbing and pumps... they need to be removed by hand cause i guess there's nothing known that will kill them. thanks alot for helping me find out what they are.
