well it is 6 months (and a couple days) sence I started the tank and I thought maby I sould take some whole tank pics

the wiring is still a little messy but it is way better than what it was.. I do a little every weekend now to clean it up and rewire everything with shorter cords hehe.

Thanks, the top tank is 36" X 24" X 25", the bottom tank is a 25 tall, and the sump is a 33 gal.

Wow, very impressive, especially for the age of the system. So much coraline.
Do you have anything in particular that you attribrute such striking growth? Or just maybe share your maintenance routine so people like myself can learn.

I am not sure if it is any "one thing" you want good lighting (I use VHO actinic, PC 10000K and MH 10000K with a photo period of 14hr, for VHO, 12 hours for PC's and 8 hours for the MH.

aside from that I believe you levels are very important.. I get the best color in the corals with my ALK over 11 Dkh, my nitrates are 0, and my Ca is 450.. I had a battle with my Ca for the longest time and it turned out I had a Mg defiencey, once that was corected my growth exploded.

I hooked up a Ca reactor in the first month of the tank being up, as well I used Kalk in my make up water.

I skim hard and I feed heavy (golden pearls twice a week at night for the corals)

wow.. looks like it is coming along well. Thats much nicer than my tank looked at 6 months, then again it was over a year before i even found the internet sites.

I also had the benifit of doung two years of reading and reaserch befor I even started building the tank ;)
